How We Use Your Data

We utilize the information you provide to enhance, personalize, and evolve our platform. How we employ your personal information depends on which features you access, how you interact with our platform, and preferences you select in your settings.

Core Platform Features

Our platform enables professional networking, skill development, and career advancement opportunities.

Professional Connections

Build and maintain your professional network by connecting with colleagues, partners, and industry contacts. When you establish connections, you gain the ability to explore each other’s networks, subject to mutual privacy settings. We leverage your profile information, browsing history, and optional address book uploads to suggest relevant connections and make your profile discoverable to others in your professional sphere.

You control who joins your network – all connection requests require your approval. When you invite someone to connect, they’ll see basic profile elements (name, photo, title, region).

Professional Development

Stay current with industry trends, insights, and learning opportunities. We analyze your activity, stated interests, and engagement patterns to recommend content, conversations, and learning resources tailored to your professional goals.

If you express interest in developing specific skills (through content consumption or direct input), we’ll customize recommendations to support your growth in those areas. With your permission, we may notify your network about profile updates, content you share, or professional milestones.

Career Advancement

Showcase your professional identity to potential employers or find candidates if you’re hiring. By default, your account is not publicly visible until resume criteria are met. Your profile visibility to companies depends on your privacy settings, which you can control directly through your resume. We use your profile data, skills, and preferences to recommend relevant job opportunities and may, with your permission, highlight your profile to companies seeking your qualifications.

Keeping your profile current ensures you receive the most appropriate opportunities and connections.

Automated Processing and Job Matching

We use automated systems to help match job seekers with relevant opportunities and help companies find qualified candidates. These automated processes analyze the information you provide in your profile and resume, along with your activity on our platform, to:

  • Match your skills and experience with job postings that meet your criteria
  • Show your profile to companies with open positions matching your qualifications
  • Recommend job postings based on your stated preferences and platform activity
  • Filter and prioritize candidate profiles for companies based on their specified requirements

All matching is based on the explicit information you provide in your profile, resume, and preference settings. You can update this information at any time to improve the relevance of matches and recommendations. While our automated systems help facilitate connections, all hiring decisions remain with the human recruiters and hiring managers who use our platform. We do not use automated processing to make final decisions about your eligibility for job opportunities, and we do not sell prediction services about you to third parties.

Communications

We collect information about you when you communicate with others through our Services (e.g., when you send, receive, or engage with messages, job applications, connection requests, or our marketing communications). This includes information about who you are communicating with and when these communications occur.

We may use automated systems to support these communications and protect our platform. For example, these systems might help detect and filter content that violates our Terms of Service, or suggest relevant responses to messages. The data from these communications helps us improve our Services and ensure a positive experience for all users.

We may also send you communications about our Services, including updates, security notifications, and information about features that may interest you based on your profile and activity. You can manage your communication preferences through your account settings, though you cannot opt out of service-related messages such as security and legal notices.

Advertising

We may serve tailored advertisements based on your profile, activity, and inferred interests. While you cannot opt out of seeing ads, you have control over ad personalization settings. We do not share your personal data with third-party advertisers except in limited cases, such as with your explicit consent or in an anonymized format.

Marketing

We leverage user activity and content to enhance your experience and grow our community. This includes sending personalized recommendations, showcasing platform features through usage examples, sharing engagement notifications that may mention your interactions, and developing communications that encourage meaningful connections. These efforts help demonstrate the benefits of our services while fostering a more vibrant and active user community.

Industry Research

We seek to create economic opportunity for Members of the plastics industry workforce and to help them be more productive and successful. We use the personal data available to us to research industry trends, such as job availability and skills needed for these jobs. In some cases, we may work with trusted third parties to perform this research, under controls that are designed to protect your privacy.

Surveys

Polls and surveys may be conducted by us and others through our Services. You are not obligated to respond to polls or surveys, and you have choices about the information you provide. You may opt out of survey invitations.

Customer Support

We use data (which can include your communications) to investigate, respond to, and resolve complaints and Service issues (e.g., bugs).

Analytics and Insights

For example, we may use your data to generate statistical information about our users, their industries or professions, to calculate engagement metrics (such as views, clicks, or interactions to support business reporting and resource management), to provide aggregate reports on content performance, to display demographic information about service usage, to create workforce demographic insights, or to better understand how our services are being used.
